Oracle Cloud Services

Major systems change, such as implementing Oracle Cloud, SAP, CRM, Office 365, SOA and application and operation system upgrades, has a multidimensional impact across roles and teams and how they interrelate. Often, it will also have an effect on the way the customer interacts with an organisation.

It is imperative to ensure that as a first step, an organisational analysis is conducted, along with a business readiness assessment.

Organisational impact assessment

We help our clients assess the maturity and change readiness of their organisation to determine the associated risks and opportunities. We use best-practice methodologies, including a framework that is associated with Oracle Cloud SAP, CRM, Office 365, SOA and application and operation system upgrades.

This framework encompasses all aspects of the ‘end state’ operating model, which is critical for enabling decision making with regard to where time, money and resources are best invested for success. It also provides a foundation for planning and implementation.

“The CRM System upgrade was an extremely successful project, considering how large it was. We not only were able to roll out the upgrade on target and to budget, but we received some very high praise across the business about the process. That’s a huge testament to what Glass Rock Solutions were able to achieve for us.” Reuben Young – Head of Learning, Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)

Business readiness

Engaging with the business from the top down, we seek to understand the key gaps between current states and future states post implementation.

This gap assessment informs the process in a number of ways, but particularly with regard to identifying potential resistance to the future state so that it can be addressed and negotiated effectively to ensure successful outcomes with minimal impact to people, to downtime and to the end-user.

The readiness effort also provides the client with what is unique to the system in focus, in terms of what is negotiable versus what is mandatory. This perspective can be compromised through an ‘on premise’ approach. Additionally, added value of ‘fresh eyes’ can often be obtained from the perspective of the expertise of external specialists.

At Glass Rock, our team takes a highly sensitive approach, aiming to begin the process of organisational buy-in from this critical starting point. The result of this is that process owners feel assured about the future state and become strong change advocates who promote the value of the processes informing the new reality.

“If you’re in a technical environment, sometimes you look at things from that lens instead of a user’s perspective, and Preetie and her team were always able to bring in the user’s perspective. They translated what we said and gave us the outcome we needed.” Sharleen Rea – Program Manager, Department of Communities and Justice

Mobilisation and engagement

Understanding that the most significant impact of an implementation such as Oracle Cloud, SAP, CRM, Office 365, SOA and application and operation system upgrades is upon employees, we help clients to mobilise individuals and teams at every level of the organisation, aligning their understanding and appreciation of the collective roles and responsibilities.

We work closely with colleagues who are specialists in Human Resources, Employment and Industrial Law to inform and address strategies that minimise and mitigate impact to roles as a result of the change.

Business process facilitation

When defining end-to-end business processes, we leverage our in-depth library specific to Oracle Cloud processes to provide a kick start.

Incorporating our process methodology and workshop design, we help our clients to define end-to-end complex business processes that integrate people, operations, governance and risk.

This process is also key for identifying the opportunities for productivity gain and continuous improvement post implementation. Choosing the best facilitator, one with organisational and leadership maturity as well as industry knowledge, is critical to the process, for moderating an outcome-focused session with open information sharing, allowing discussions to be both robust and relevant.

Our key differentiator is the outcome-focus that we bring to business process facilitation. This means that we work towards ‘no-impact to the committed go-live date’. Our specialist expertise is ensuring the right level of information is captured, which enables us to address the overall purpose of the project.

Project management

We support our clients with project management expertise to align project outcomes with business outcomes. We work closely with the project sponsor and other key stakeholders to drive results, while mitigating project scope creep and impact on project go-live dates. This we do from our in-depth knowledge of deploying Oracle Cloud and other systems in focus.

Our business program and project managers are integrated into your organisation and will represent the business to provide direction and deliver agreed outcomes.

Change management

Change management and related activities are critical in executing the engagement strategy to ensure clients are ready to adopt and take up new ideas relating to Oracle Cloud. We include all levels within an organisation, designing the best change strategies, including non-traditional solutions. This results in faster embedment and quality outcomes. This will often provide sustainable results that prevent unnecessary rework if not done successfully.
