Coaching Skills

Manager with employee working in office

Duration: 1 – 2 day(s)

Overview

Today, the creation and application of new knowledge are essential to the survival of almost all organisations, for a number of reasons:

  • Intangible products – ideas, processes, information – are taking a growing share of global trade from the traditional, tangible goods or bricks and mortar economy.
  • The only sustainable competitive advantage is continuous innovation i.e. the application of new knowledge.
  • As things change, so our knowledge base erodes – in some businesses, as much of 50% of what you knew even three years ago is probably close to obsolete today.
  • Lastly, a transient workforce means that people transition into a variety of roles and even organisations in a lifetime and it is no longer a job for life. This means that the knowledge walks out of the door with them.

So, as essential and critical as knowledge sharing is, the behaviour is not widely adapted as yet in most organisations. But one effective way to share knowledge across organisations is developing a coaching culture, whereby skills and knowledge-sharing becomes the norm.

This course, delivered by Glass Rock Solutions, focuses on the psychological and physiological approach to leading and facilitating a knowledge-sharing culture, helping participants to learn valuable coaching skills which enable the transfer of knowledge in both formal and informal ways.
