Developing a Growth Mindset

Successful happy group of people

Duration 1 day

Overview

What is a ‘growth’ mindset?

A fixed mindset assumes that our intelligence, character and creative ability are static. Basically, you are dealt a hand in life and are required to accept it; a fixed mindset can result in career and life stagnation.

On the other hand, a growth mindset is based on the idea that your essential qualities are things you can cultivate through your efforts.

It assumes that everyone can change and grow through experience and practice. A growth mentality sees failure not as a detriment, but as a learning experience.

The reason it is so critical to develop a growth mindset in today’s fast-paced business environment is because change is inevitable, constant and it is often swift. The people who are able to be flexible and adapt are better equipped to cope. People with a ‘growth’ mindset tend to tackle problems, rather than worry about them. They are able to think innovatively, are resilient and they do not give up easily.

The good news is that you can learn to have a growth mindset. This course helps participants to develop essential skills that create a growth mindset, to start to look differently at how they think and behave at work and life, and see the potential, opportunity and possibility, rather than repeating the same old patterns that keep them stuck.
